Act as a contributing small team leader in the design and development of high performance web applications helping students prepare to succeed in college and in their careers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
o Provide technical input to product team during brainstorming and requirements development process.
o Provide input to architectural design decisions of the group.
o Analyze requirements to create task breakdowns and time estimates.
o Design and develop product functions and features as detailed in product requirements documents.
o Resolve any software defects found in the QA process and release code to production.
Required Experience and Knowledge
o BS/BA/equivalent in computer information technology, computer science, information management systems or related disciplines; Master's degree is a plus.
o 5+ years relevant development experience in a LAMP environment (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP).
o Strong PHP and javascript skills.
o Strong SQL database experience required.
o Deep understanding of web-related technologies such as jquery, memcache, APC cache, noSQL databases, etc.
o Strong analytical skills.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Proven track record of delivering well-structured, functional software.
o Manages complexity and understands when to escalate issues.
o Initiative and self-motivation to tackle projects with minimal oversight.
o Experienced with other languages and development technologies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
