Workers' Compensation Specialist, Corporate Care at Monmouth Medical Center, South

The Workers' Compensation Specialist serves as the direct point of contact for all internal and external workers' compensation related issues.
Essential Functions:
Responds to employer, carrier, and claims handler requests within 24 hours.
Acquires treatment authorization for workers compensation employees/patients.
Monitors clinical efficiency and reports suggestions/situations to appropriate parties.
Assists with the coordination of special events and programs including annual claims reviews and stewardship meetings.
Assists in the management of client/system relationship between the Department and key stakeholders in the affiliate; assumes responsibility for establishing/maintaining rapport with key employers, insurance companies and other business entities as appropriate.
Utilizing EMR, ensures that workers' compensation quick notes/work status forms are prepared by clinicians and is responsible for sending to employers/supervisors/claim handlers within 24 hours; reports noncompliance to team leader/director as appropriate.
Acts as the department s key liaison to all workers' compensation partners including the third party administrator, broker, Human Resources, and hospital department directors/supervisors.
Functions as the liaison between Corporate Care/EHS and HR for all work related injuries and employee return to work clearances; responsible for maintaining data in Agility for quarterly DART reports, and preparing/distributing annual OSHA logs and monthly reports including Safety, Safe Patient Handling, Infection Control and PIC.
Responsible for managing claims in Agility and ensuring all proper documentation is scanned to employee charts; reviews, updates and distributes weekly claims review logs to TPA, clinicians, Directors and senior leadership as directed.
Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred.
Prior workers' compensation experience required.
Candidate must be detail oriented and conscientious, possess strong computer skills, possess general office skills such as answering phones, copying, and filing.
Candidate must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to independently manage/prioritize multiple highly time-sensitive assignments, and strong attention to detail.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am 4:30pm OR 8:30am 5:00pmEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
