POSITION Overview:
Lightstone currently owns and manages a large portfolio of properties across muliple asset classes, including multi-family, hospitality, retail, industrial and life sciences.
In this position, you will responsible for all accounting functions related to these properties.
The Senior Property Accountant reports to the Senior Accounting Director and assists in reviewing and maintaining the financial statements.
Prior accounting experience, attention to detail and good communication skills are required.
Essential Functions:
The Senior Property Accountant will be assigned specific real estate properties and is responsible for the following accounting functions:
o Assist with the preparation of financial statementso Analyse and reconcile bank statements and general ledgerso Post journal entries for accrued expenses and revenueo Maintain and record fixed assetso Analyse revenue and expenses to ensure that they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basiso Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities and reconcile the intercompany receivables and payableso Assist with analysing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on varianceso Prepare internal financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close scheduleo Assist with budget and forecast preparationo Coordination of annual audit and tax document preparationo Projects as Assigned
Qualifications:
o 4 years accounting experience; o Real Estate/Property Accounting expereince preferred but not requiredo Accounting Degree requiredo Extensive computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)o Familiarity with MRI or other real estate g/l softwareo Strong analytical skillso Self-startero Good team playerOther details Pay Type Salary Apply Now Recommended Skills Accounting Analytical Attention To Detail Auditing Communication Forecasting Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
